Memory Boxes
A Memory Box is a box full of items, photos, poems and more, relating to a theme or person’s experience. Exploring a Memory Boxes can be either a solitary or group activity. Comparable to a flipping through a scrapbook, rummaging through a memory box can spark reminiscences and recollection of the past.
The Society encourages people to borrow these Memory Boxes or create a special Memory Box with items that speak directly to their loved one’s past and experience. If you are experiencing the early stages of memory loss, you might want to create your own Memory Box to collect all your sentimental items into one place. The Resource library also has a book about Memory Boxes full of great ideas to get you started.
Memory Boxes at the Society:
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Remembrance, Christmas, School Days, Farm, Needle Work.
